Arsenal Travel To Face Crystal Palace Under The Friday Night Lights On The Opening Weekend Of EPL

As the English Premier League (EPL) returns for the 2022-23 season on August 5, 2022, Arsenal will face former midfielder Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners will take on the Eagles on Friday August 5 at 8:00p.m. before welcoming Leicester City to the Emirates Stadium the following weekend. It is then a favourable run of fixtures as they face newly promoted sides Fulham at home and Bournemouth away in the following week.

The north London derbies against Tottenham are pencilled in for Saturday October 1 at the Emirates and January 14 away. The first four fixtures on Arsenal’s schedule are seen as favourable, which means they’ll be hoping to get off to a strong start to the campaign. However, Gunners fans will not forget that a newly promoted team – Brentford humiliated Arsenal at the opening day of the league last season.

The next block of games includes facing Aston Villa, a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, a home game against Everton before a trip to Brentford where they started the campaign last time round on Saturday September 17. After the first international break in September, it’s a big one as they face Spurs at home, host Liverpool and then travel away to Leeds United.

The tricky run continues as they take on Premier League champions Manchester City after that on October 18. Not forgetting, Arsenal will face a busier fixture list this season being back in Europe, and it could mean they have to find a way to rotate the squad more frequently.

They face the likes of Everton at home and Brentford away in September after Thursday night fixtures in Europe. October might be tougher as they host Liverpool and Nottingham Forest as well as have a trip away to Leeds after Europa League fixtures. A trip away to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea also comes after a midweek fixture on Saturday November 5.

Boxing Day is set to see Arteta’s side host London rivals West Ham United before travelling away to Brighton on New Year’s Eve. To round off the festive period they host Newcastle United on Monday January 2 before a mini break. Much like last season it looks like a reasonably kind run-in with a trip away to Newcastle on Saturday May 6, before a home match against Brighton the following week. The Gunners will then make the trip away to the City Ground to face newly promoted Nottingham Forest on Saturday May 20 before then concluding the season at home against Wolves on Sunday May 28.
